Boehringer Ingelheim employee recognized for donating her time and talent with Catchafire

Boehringer Ingelheim celebrated the recipients of the 2025 Volunteer Legacy Award, recognizing employees dedicated to creating meaningful change in their communities. One way they contributed was by leveraging the Catchafire platform to offer their skills, connecting corporate resources with nonprofit needs.
Established by the Boehringer Cares Foundation in 2023, the award honors those who transform compassion into real-world impact. This year, Mithesia Bryant was recognized for her contributions to the Petersburg Healthy Community Action Team (HCAT), where she applied her business expertise to build a sustainable digital presence for the nonprofit, providing families with 24/7 access to nutrition education.
Mithesia Bryant: Empowering healthy choices through digital innovation
For Mithesia Bryant, volunteering is personal. Inspired by her family’s work with children with limited resources, she has always believed in the power of service to create opportunity and hope. While successfully completing the first semester in her Executive MBA program, Mithesia wanted to put that belief into action—combining her business expertise with her heart for community.
She found that opportunity in a 30-hour project with Petersburg Healthy Community Action Team (HCAT), a nonprofit dedicated to improving community health. HCAT increases access to fruits and vegetables. It also empowers healthier choices by educating families with recipes, nutrition information, and video demonstrations.

Mithesia brought HCAT's mission to life by building a strong digital presence. She launched social media platforms, developed a content calendar, and created videos to amplify their message. Her efforts changed how HCAT connects with the community. Now, families have 24/7 access to resources and event updates without requiring more staff time. This efficiency, valued at $2,397, allows HCAT to dedicate more resources to expanding health programs.
For Mithesia, the experience was about more than technology. It was about relationships. “It feels like we’ve known each other forever,” she says. Her story reflects the heart of our volunteer legacy: using skills, compassion, and connection to strengthen communities.

Through programs like Skills2Give in partnership with Catchafire, Boehringer Ingelheim continues to match employee talent with community needs, fostering a culture where every colleague is empowered to make a lasting difference.
