Our team spoke with Executive Director of Class Act Detroit, Rashard Dobbins, as he shared his journey on reaching and teaching adolescents in Detroit about art and music throughout the pandemic. When everything went remote, his nonprofit had to scramble to figure out how to continue to give students the support they needed. With the help of virtual volunteers on Catchafire, they were able to adapt their programs and reach far more students than before.
Special thanks to The Skillman Foundation for making this possible. Since receiving a sponsor membership from The Skillman Foundation, staffers at Class Act Detroit have worked with volunteers on 35 projects and have received over $115,000 in pro bono services.
